Having stripped the cb500s and scattered bits to all corners of the garage, its slowly coming back together. It will soon be at the point where I can (try to) fire it up. I'm not really into electrickery and am aware that earthing of various bits is crucial. Now looking over the wiring diagram (haynes), it shows, somewhere at the front end an earth point with a green wire and a green and black wire to it. Where exactly do I find this earth point? Just so I can check clean and tighten.

Re: Earth point
No idea, the only one I've found is the green wire that is earthed to the frame by the regulator rectifier.
If I had to guess I'd say it might be somewhere near the coils...

Re: Earth point
Ah, as I'm not running a fan on my new rad that would explain why I cant find the earth point. I'll dig the old fan out from my growing pile of scrap and see what connects to it. If its just the fan switch then no prob.

Re: Earth point
Yes CE, it looks like earth point on fan shroud is just for fan switch and just about everything else connects through the loom to earth at the reg/rec. I find diagram confusing as reg/rec is shown bottom right and its adjacent earth point is shown top left alongside instruments etc. Anyway enough of the black arts, new exhaust can and link pipe should arrive today or tomorrow and thats much more exciting.
