Exhaust down pipes Empty Exhaust down pipes

    Post by Jcamper56 Wed 06 Mar 2019, 9:58 pm

Hi guys, can anyone help, I have the front section of my Honda CB500 1996 down pipes and there looks like there is a flat on the underside of the tubes, i don't think its from road wear as its too deep, can anyone tell me if the section has a flat on the pipes from manufacture.
    thanks in advance.

Certainly nothing like that on mine. Must say it does look like road wear, the weld seam has also been ground flat.

Hi cheers for that, that leaves me to believe a possible bump on the tubes and flattened off and whats best to do??
I could drill an exploratory hole to see how thick it is in the middle and then possibly cut out damage and weld a piece in or just weld up completely and grind back??

    Anyone else have any ideas??

If the running of the engine doesn't seem to be affected, I'd just leave it and carry on riding. Twisted Evil

Hahaha someones being a hooligan with your bike!
They're the first part to ground out on the road after the pegs, I'd make a bet and say your bike doesn't have any crash protection either.
