Soooooo passed with flying colours Hi Folks - Page 2 1f606

    No advisories, happy chap.

I have done 100 miles or so and what a great little bike.
It is miss-firing very slightly, but idles well and revs through the range.
I do have the coil sticks to be fitted at a later stage, I did not want to do it at the same time as the carbs so as to not introduce too many failure points just in case it would not start, I did make a loom and slave them in and they seemed to work well.
I also have a slight pulsing on the front brake which at this point I am putting down to the tyre which does need replacing.

Item's that I have sourced that might be useful over and above the standard maintenance items ...

When I was taking the chain slider off it was very brittle and snapped in two places, this was the replacement:
    Chain Slider - https://www.ebay.co.uk/ipp/384379181730?transactionId=1246112488025

When I thought I might need to refurbish the calipers I found some new slider pins:
    CB500 category here
    https://titanclassics.com/product-category/honda-titanium-parts/cb500/

Caliper Sliders for Stainles on Titanclassics ebay site
    small slider here

    Bigger slider here:
    https://titanclassics.com/product/front-brake-titanium-caliper-pin-bolt-part-45131-ha5-672/

The replacement petcock was purchased from here:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003295482113.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.379c4c4diies7N
It does not mention the CB500, but it is the same as the F3 CBR600 and works a treat.

I am looking to put it back to stock ish in the spring as my lad is wanting to learn how to ride and the front end is a little heavy with the fairing on and he will only be town riding so the nimbler the better for him... more on that journey later (thankfully I hear you all say!!)

Stay safe and keep the rubber side down

    Cheers
    Al

Looking good! Glad to hear it passed the MOT.

I should do something similar with my front engine bolt - I'm sure it is siezed in a very similar way to yours, but it's not causing me any problems so I don't really want to go near it...

Well done for getting the exhaust off without snapping any studs! Mine didn't happen that way... thankfully I manage to fix it in the end.
