whats the secret pipe inside the tank for?? Empty whats the secret pipe inside the tank for??

whist checking how much petrol there was in my tank i noticed theres a bit of crap around the inside of the tank cap. i then found what i thought was a rotting hole. then when i removed some of the crap i noticed its meant to be there and runs down through the tank and along a metal inner pipe. whats it for and if dirt has got down it have i buggered it? im thinking its an overfill for petrol?

Yes, I believe that is the overflow/expansion hole - try over filling the tank and see what happens!

I agree...... it leads from the small hole at the edge of the filler cap....through the tank... and out the bottom which has a rubber pipe connected to it to take overspill down to the floor? where all the other pipes are grouped together underneath...

yep thats what it is, i just thought bugger heres somethnig else thats rotten on it!! glad its just an over spill cheers
