Heatshield - suggestions anybody ?
To try and make my bike a better fit for me, I have fitted dropped footpegs ( as discussed in Accessories ) but now I am having a bit of a problem with the link pipe section of the exhaust singeing my boot. I even burnt my leg quite badly once when riding in shoes, when I put my leg down at a traffic light.
Can anybody suggest a solution for a heat shield this section. Ideally something which looks as a friend describes things " Bought in a shop " !

This stuff would look pretty cool, and the blurb says it makes you go faster!

Just noticed that was a US site. You can get it in the UK:

Yes, I've used pipe wrap in the past on competition exhausts on cars and it works well to defend against scalding and to keep heat levels down in engine bays.
It's not really that great for bike stuff as its almost uncleanable when mud spattered, and it does abrade easily. Mind you, I might be forced to use it if I can't find an alternative answer.

I would think you could make your own using a piece of sheet metal and possibly getting it chromed or better still a piece of stainless steel ,a few measurements and taking a template/measurements to a local engineer,I did a similair job with a pair of homemade soft pannier supports for my Ortliebs on my previous bike

Yes, I would go with a cunningly placed bit of stainless that stops you being able to put your leg into the 'danger zone'. You could even use --cable ties-- an appropriate fixing system and attach it to the hanger.
As far as the 'make it look good' part goes, that should be a matter of putting the bends in the right places - ideally get some thin scrap steel (or other metal), cut it up to the kind of size you want and bend as appropriate. It is also possible to polish stainless quite well, so you can even make it shine
