hi folks just found the forum and what a crackin one it is at that. i just got a r reg cb500 for my first bike, plan on doing my direct access in the new year when the weather starts to brighten up again.

heres a pic off the new toy, i just got it yesterday

the to do list so far looks like a coolant flush and a new rad cap to stop it spurting out coolant from the overflow tube,

a stainless exhaust coz the steel one looks dead tatty now,

a couple of replacement side fairings/covers (maybe not so urgent)

and the biggie, replace the fork tubes as there starting to go pitted i'll probably just do a wee overhaul with the stiffer progressive springs, head bearings, wheel bearings, and powdercoat the sliders

cheers folks,
Ali.

p.s. any newbie tips welcome

Welcome in mate! Very Happy
You may want to keep an eye on this thread re the coolant.

Nice tidy looking bike! I fitted a laser stainless system a couple of years ago, very good value for money.
