Using CB500S Clocks on CB500 Empty Using CB500S Clocks on CB500

Hi,

I have a naked CB, with a tacho that doesn't work.  Could I use a CB500S set of clocks without a nose fairing?

My assumption is that the S Clocks are not so waterproof at the back so without aq fairing or some adaption they'll let too much mater inside.  Is that right?

Yes. I have one, but as you said it is designed for a bike with a fairing, plus as far as I could see- it does need the bracket

Ah, OK so it is fixed to the bracket that holds the fairing - that makes sense!

Thanks Tricky,

But I might be getting hold of a standard CB500 Clock instead.

Best Wishes,

The clocks for the faired model bolt to mounting points on the frame that aren't present on the naked frame. So getting the mounting frame for 'S' clocks wouldn't solve the problem.

Thanks for the advice AndyC.

I've now bought a set of standard CB500 (non-faired) clocks secondhand.
