Exhaust Fitting
I've just got an oval fuel exhaust & since I also have some better quality oe pipes from a job lot I got a while back I've decided to fit them too but I have a couple of questions.
Wemoto sell both aluminium & copper gaskets. Since they're both the same price, which are better to go for?
Also, is there anything else I need to get/replace?
Thanks muchly in advance for all the advice.

Re: Exhaust Fitting
I hope that wasn't the Fuel exhaust that went for £82 on E-bay today....er, not that I bid for it or anything. Harrummph!
I understand the joy of the copper gaskets is that they are very soft so can be tightened gently and will sort of mould into place for a good seal, albeit that they might need a second tightening. No idea whether the aluminium ones do the same or not though but I went copper when I took my downpipes off. I think the original/OEM jobs were copper and lets face it, they aren't exactly expensive so I'd be tempted to stick to them?

Erm those might be the exact ones though I wouldn't have gone much higher as Fuel are selling them brand new for £124 at the moment
Most other places I've seen have only stocked copper so the ally ones have intrigued me a bit.

Re: Exhaust Fitting
argh.. a curse upon your house! To be fair, my rationale was much the same and having seen no bids I thought I'd chance my arm but was getting nagged to take the dog out so just stuck in the lowest price rather than a sneaky (aka sensible) couple of quid over. By the time I got back in 'twas gone.
Anyway, well done for winning it, hope it works out ok.
I may just have to wait until the new year and buy a new one...apparently they send you a free kendal mint cake so .. ha, who'll be laughing then? Well worth the extra £40!

Re: Exhaust Fitting
Yay its arrived
Now all I need to do is get the gaskets & find some time to fit it.

Here is a link from a CBR600 forum which might help in the decision on copper or not
