Dead shocks, upgrade to Hagon or replace with standard/pattern?
With my CB I have noticed that at speed through fast corners the back end of the bike can feel "skippy" and "wobbly". This is unnerving to say the least, especially going through the Alps last week with sheer drops off the side of the road!
I have been told that maybe this could be the shocks which have worn out after 14 years and 37000 miles and could do with the innards renewing (not worth it apparently) or replacing with Hagon or pattern shocks. TBH the shocks are rusty and tatty and could do with going as I've got plans in mind to tart the rest of bike up; respray, new end can, engine respray etc.
I've no experience with suspension upgrades so I've little idea of what to go for but I've heard both good and bad things about Hagons, some say they sharpen up the handling and other say they make the ride too hard for the road. There is also mixed reviews on the quality and longevity of cheaper pattern replacements such as Tec Bike Parts. Also with the upgraded shock would I need to change the front fork springs to Hagon Progressive springs to keep the balance or would it be okay to keep the standard ones in there?

I've recently swapped mine for non adjustable hagons. Hell of a difference! Mine was decking out all over the place on track to the point of me ending up coming off. I pulled the springs off my originals just to have a nosey at what was going on. You could compress from fully extended to fully in as quick as you could clap! I've also put 20mm spacers on top of the fork springs to add some preload and 15wt oil. Very happy at the moment but might try some hagon springs up front at some point.
