Tyre pressure when fully loaded.
Heys guys!
Last summer was the first that i had together with my/any bike, and like that, i wanted to do a bike journey with my gf.
It was clear after the first dialogs, that this was clearly more a dream of mine than hers...for that reason, we never took off...
One year round, and this week, on thursday, we´re finally doing a 10 days roadtrip around our wonderful nation. Camping, low cost, carrying lots of stuff.
I only have a givi top case and a tank bag, so all the mattresses and sleeping bags will be carried outside, attached to the top case by ropes and elastics.
My concern is about tire pressure.
Rear susp will be (already is) on hardest set, cargo will be close to maximum, so i wonder, what would it be the ideal tire pressure.
I will be riding very slowly, not taking any chances, so grip during turn is not my priority.
I was thinking on 29/40.
What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,

Re: Tyre pressure when fully loaded.
29/40 doesn't sound like a bad start - assuming you have tyres that are similar to the originals.
Bridgestone recommend higher pressures for the BT45s, even when riding solo, so if you have BT45s you can/should probably go higher than that (someone will come along in a minute and tell you what they are).
I tried out a few different pressures when I fitted my Avon Roadriders - as soon as I increased the front pressure more than 30 there was a noticeable difference in 'feel' from the front. The rear started to do something similar above about 38, but it wasn't too bad.
I would suggest that you load the bike up the night/afternoon before and go for a practice ride, if possible - this will indicate if you are in the right area.

Well...
Back from trip in the end of last week.
Journey was a blast. Wild camping. Normal camping. Hotel in one day. Great views. Magnificent roads.
Best food, wine and team mate for the journey.
The best was that my gf enjoyed 300% more than she thought she was going to. Even thought she did not told me, i know she got hit by surprise...
For the record, i used more a less those pressures. 2.2 bars in front, 2.8 in the back.
Bike handles the weight quite well. It´s also really fun to drive on "heavy" mode.
1850 km all in twisties, upside down the mountain. 59.5 mpg average.
This bike is a beast!
