Nice find. I don't need one, but I've seen lots with faded lettering.

Nice find indeed. Although my bike has done very little miles it's obviously sat where the sun has taken it's toll on the plastic and my clock casing is quite faded (as are to tops of the speedo and tacho needles ). More importantly, my warning lights have gone a bit opaque so they are hard to see in bright sunlight. At under £12 posted I might well give one of them a go.

It was the faded lettering that prompted me to buy another as it was getting right on my tits. I was lucky enough to find a German seller knocking out NOS covers for £20 a pop. I bought two and sold an old one, complete with Arai sticker, to Homebrew. Everyone was happy.

When the ladies see stickers on a motorbike it's a bit like a fanny-magnet. Honestly, it's like catnip!
Not actually true.

It's always the bleedin' sun. And yes, at £12 you're not gonna cry if it turns out to be shite. But be warned, this is advertised for the CB500 VTEC.

It took me 10 seconds to click 'Buy'. I've got a sneaky plan to install a voltage-monitor-thingy and putting it into the speedo casing would just make it look even more 'factory'.
This to avoid cooking my battery once the reg/rec goes belly-up.

I have one of those, too! I bought it months ago but haven't had the time to fit it yet. After the VFR r/r debacle, it made me think a bit more about electrical health.

Re: Do your clocks look scruffy?
Mate of mine installed it on his VFR750. There's a vacant indicator 'window' on the dash, so he cut an opaque piece of plastic, fitted a nice little picture of a battery on top and put it all together. Looks quite 'factory'.badseeds wrote:stormbringer wrote:I've got a sneaky plan to install a voltage-monitor-thingy.......

So I got one too - and now a new top shell to put it into is on its way. Nice
Re: Do your clocks look scruffy?
Cool, looking forward to seeing how these turn out!
Anyone know where I could get the speedo outer shell / back?

Re: Do your clocks look scruffy?
Didn't expect them to fit but for a few quid they look great. Could do with a yoke protector now to tidy that bit up. Can't see any on ebay will take a look around!

Re: Do your clocks look scruffy?
Looks like these don't have the inner rims around the inner glass? Are they glued into the original or are they removable?
Look great tho, thanks for the pic.

Re: Do your clocks look scruffy?
To be honest I didn't notice. Although the headlight beam did shine back through a little. If I can use the old one I will be if it doesn't detach I don't expect it will bother me.
