WANTED: Mint low miles CB500 for racing
First post so might as well make it count
As per the title, im after a mint or at least really nice condition, low mileage CB500. Going to be racing it in this years thundersport championship and need a nice standard platform to build off.
Must be disc type rear wheel with the brembo brakes and the non faired model.
Not after an already converted track bike unless it is an absolute minter, not the usual nail held together with tape and cable ties! :p
Ring, txt or leave me a PM here and ill get back to you asap.

Cheers all!

Ah shit! You'll not be wanting my bike then...
I fear that most people round here with a 'mint' CB500 probably want to keep it, but you never know.
Best of luck with the racing.

Re: WANTED: Mint low miles CB500 for racing
I'd love a low priced mint cb5 too, for a cared for life in a carpeted garage, commuting and occasional zipping around backroads. I'm sure my other bike would take to it just fine. However, I'm realistic enough to know that I'll be very lucky. If I found one I'd keep it.
Perhaps put an ad on the racers site http://z3.invisionfree.com/cb500_racing/index.php as there are some pretty sorted racebikes about that'll save you a lot of bother. Most of the selling got done before Xmas though as people changed classes etc. I don't think low miles bikes make more bhp than well used ones and the race rules only allow specific upgrades that have pretty marginal effect on power, the point being to make the bikes more or less equal.

Re: WANTED: Mint low miles CB500 for racing
I wouldn't love to see my bike ending in an oil spill on a race track. Anyway, I am a big fan of the CB500 Cup series (or thundersport 500 as it is called). As a CB500 enthusiast, is there any chance to get those race stickers by mail (of course, I'll pay the expenses)?
Plus, I'd enjoy some pictures when the mint one is ready to race...

No budget, id pay whatever for the right bike! Like i said, it doesnt HAVE to be a minter, just not something that looks like its been dragged out of a river and has had some care over the years.
Lower mileage might not make sense to some people, but id rather start with something that hasnt seen a million miles and may need more money piling into the motor to make sure it doesnt go pop on lap 1!
And yeah, i think youll like what i have in store for this bike when its done

Yeah, restrictors are out now, done 15K miles over 2 and a bit years, and still pulling like a train. Only problems its had have been a stone through the radiator, and a dead battery. Both easy fixes. Cant fault it.
