1994 CB500 bits for sale
Hey guys, sadly my bike has reached the end of its life due to seized and snapped exhaust studs. That combined with the condition of parts of the frame has led me to decide to sell it bit by bit.
The bike was in full working order before the bolts snapped, and so all component parts are up for sale, I will get pictures up when I get a day off work, however the main things missing are the centerstand, and the seat is slightly torn, fixed up with gorilla tape. The chain/sprockets had just been changed 500/600 miles ago and the carbs were cleaned while I tried to extract the snapped studs. The total mileage is in the 84000 range.
If anyone wants any bits in particular send me a message here or a text on 07462 551 836 with the part and I'll get back with an offer. I'm in Aberdeen in Scotland so can post to the UK and maybe Europe, within reason. Collection is better, especially for larger parts.
I'll try and get a full list of parts together with pictures as soon as I can.

I'm sure we'll buy, at least, some of it!
You'll probably get more money selling it off bit by bit (even if you have a lot of 'bits' left over)!

I am also interested if the downpipes are in stainless steel if Mr Hambleton doesn't take them, I live in Aberdeenshire so no postage costs. I am also after a speedometer cable (mine died) and bar end weights as well. I am also after the big chromed washer that holds the sides of the rear cowling on, the part that fits over the rear shock absorber stud. What colour are the panels in? Need to replace a few scratched ones as well. Also how much for the generator cover and clutch housing cover, they have been badly scratched on mine by previous owners most likely falling over. Thanks

Re: 1994 CB500 bits for sale
Hey, sorry for the delay in replying, I thought I got email updates for every reply!
James, I have downpipes, they were put on last year and are stainless, however they have the expected discolouring given the mileage they have done. The plates that bolt them to the engine are intact, and I also have a viper end can on them if the exhaust is also needed. This is a picture of them:
The tank has a small chip in it where a bungee snapped off, however aside from that is in good nick. It comes with 1 key, however it is possible to replace the fuel cap, I will get a picture tomorrow in the better light. The rear cowl is in reasonable condition, has a few rust marks and a couple of small dings in the plastic as the rear rack sat too low, also one of the spacers which the suspension bolts went through snapped, however I still have this and it could be superglued on. There are some pictures of it here:
Skyrae, I have a speedo cable, never had any issues, its still attached to the dials, but once I remove it from them I will get some pictures. The rear cowling was never held on with big chrome washers while I owned the bike, just standard penny washers and long bolts:
Unfortunately the bar end weights are not moveable, I've tried many times. All the panels are black, I have the black/purple theme model. The clutch and generator covers are not scratched in an obvious way, however on the generator side the big allen bolt bit won't turn, but I wasn't trying too hard to remove it, I will get pictures tomorrow of them however I would like to get rid of the engine in its entirety if possible as its only problem is the snapped bolts.
James, the rear swing arm bolts are covered by soft foam disks on my bike, see this picture, this may have been a fix by a previous owner:
As far as prices go, feel free to make offers based on the pictures, obviously I'll tend to prefer people who are local and can collect.

Would you accept £80 for the downpipes and what ever it costs for postage?

Re: 1994 CB500 bits for sale
Hey James, I do have crash bars and the clocks, however the centre stand is missing and the side stand is needed still as I have to keep the bike on a drive while I remove parts. £80 plus postage sounds good for the downpipes, I will need to find a reasonably large box though, or large amounts of bubble wrap, which I would have to do on Thursday or Friday at the earliest.

Would you be able to send me an image of the crash bars and of the clocks please, also I'm in no rush for parts, my mother might just kill me for this... =D

Re: 1994 CB500 bits for sale
Hey, sorry for the delay in replying to the thread, I don't have a fan unfortunately, it rusted away to the point of falling off, which was a fun thing to happen mid ride... the mirrors I have cost me £3.99 delivered off of ebay and are just generic round M10 ones, my advice is if you buy cheap chromed mirrors, use clear nail varnish on the chrome to stop the rust as they rust damn fast! I will get pictures of the crash bars and clocks taken tomorrow and put them up.

I'm looking for a set of standard handlebars with bar end weights if possible. Also a rear luggage rack or a grab rail and a pair of front footrests.

You can have them, I've just got a pair of stainless downpipes on ebay for £67.50 including postage, I've not heard anything from MitchB so... yeah...
