Quick question on banjo bolt thread pitches
Hi all,
I am sure someone can confirm this for me very easily. Is the thread pitch for the front master cylinder and calliper 1.0 on both? It is an 02 plate brembo model. Hel sent me 2 bolts, both different pitches and when i emailed them they thought I needed 2 x 1.25 which I am fairly sure is wrong. Can someone confirm before I tear up by brake components with the the wrong size bolts.
Cheers gents

Jerryfudd (in the other post) suggests that:
'...the bolt is an M10x1.0'
as he said in the other post, he also got the wrong pitch with his braided lines.

And Jerryfudd would know as he mashed his caliper with the wrong one, rendering the calliper useless.
Can't you measure the pitch of the old bolt, or line it up to the new one to check?

Re: Quick question on banjo bolt thread pitches
I haven't removed the old 1 yet as my bike is my transport to work. I didn't want to have it laid up for any amount of time so I wanted to make sure I had all the correct parts lined up before any disassembly.
It turns out that Hel didn't seem to realise that the later model cb500 has Brembo brakes and when I told them that they agreed that 1.0 in correct and they said they would send out the correct 1.
Thanks for helping me sort this 1 out guys. Much appreciated

Re: Quick question on banjo bolt thread pitches
i say its 1.0 but thats from my own brembo experience but please please PLEASE check for yourself when you do get round to removing the old one..... as a sanity check put the new and old bolt threads next to each (of course with one bolt round the other way) and they should mate perfectly.

Re: Quick question on banjo bolt thread pitches
Maybe a silly question: Why are you replacing the banjo bolts? Replacing the gasket washers is enough after loosening them.

You get nice stainless steel ones with the new s/s hoses.

see below why id advise replacement, taken from another thread
jerryfudd wrote:Id use the washers and bolts from the HEL kit as comparing the Honda and HEL bolts the side port is at a slightly different height (pic below - ignore the bleed nipple I think I was comparing OE to a ProBolt S/S one), I didn't compare union depths but just figured those are the bolts that came with them so why not.

....and as Beresford says they are stainless (...and free!)
