Hey guys
Need some advice my front forks are so.badly pitted and rusted that I need to get replacement ones but eBay is not showing much up
So I was hoping someone could help with what other forks might fit from different bikes
Thanks

Re: Front fork replacement
Any forks can be made to fit if one has access to machine tools, but a simple drop in would be good to know about. Somewhere in this forum there is a mention of somebody installing a twin disc set-up I seem to remember from a CBf600 or similar. I think the wheel was included because of axle sizes or something like that.

Looking for a simple drop in as more than happy with the standard brakes and looking to make it a thundersport bike

Re: Front fork replacement
I also use a CBR600f2 front end for my work bike, I wanted to keep the speedo drive for the standard clocks. So a 1994 was the latest I could use.
And a cleaner picture.
Being able to use radial tyres improves the handling no end.
I use a rear wheel from an NC29 CBR400 with a 160/60.

What modifications did you need to make to get those to fit Andy?

Re: Front fork replacement
The front end fits straight on, apart from,
The lockstop on the frame needed filing a touch to get the steering lock to engage smoothly.
The standard CBR bars are clip-ons, riding all day with my ageing back needed a more upright position so I fitted risers with a set of Renthals. All the wiring and cables fitted okay apart from the clutch cable. The CBF500 came to the rescue and that cable fits perfectly.
The rear wheel uses the cb500 rear disc which fits straight on, the sprocket alignment is 5mm further out than the cb500, you can space out the front sprocket with no problems, I did that for years. If you feel really adventurous you can fit a gearbox output shaft from a CBF500 which moves the front sprocket out by 5mm. It's identical to the CB500 (apart from the extra 5mm, that is).
The NC29 wheel uses a 20mm spindle compared to the 17mm of the CB500. At first I made up spacers, which worked fine for years.
Later I just bored out the swing arm slots and chain adjusters to 20mm and used a 20mm spindle from a CBR600f4.
