2002 CB500S
I bought this CB500S just under a year ago mainly for commuting purposes, unfortunately it doesn’t get enough use (as I prefer my little trail bike for city duties) to justify me keeping it.
I’ve covered just over a thousand miles in the past year and during my ownership I’ve done the following:-
Forks rebuilt with new seals and bushes, Hagon uprated springs and 10W oil.
New rear Tec shocks.
Hel braided brake hoses front and rear and EBC HH pads. Brake pistons cleaned up, rear brake pedal assembly dismantled, cleaned and greased.
Carbs balanced.
Michelin Pilot Activ tyres front and rear (the front has a very slow puncture).
New water pump gasket, flushed system and replaced coolant.
New iridium plugs, oil and filter change, new air filter.
Carbon fibre fender extender and race grp engine covers.
New mirrors and mini smoked indicators.
The rear grab rails and centre stand were missing so these were sourced and replaced.
NC29 side stand for a less severe angle of lean!
End can and chain adjusters given a lick of satin black paint.
New fairing ticket box.
The general cosmetic condition of the bike isn’t bad, the bodywork has a few marks and cracks and the engine and radiator paint has flaked off a bit in places. The most noticeable aspect is the right hand side of the fairing and tail section has faded to an orangey colour. I think this must’ve happened when the bike was stood in a bike shop window for a few years. Apart from that I would say it’s a fairly clean example.
I still have the oem indicators, mirrors, side stand and shocks.
The bike has now covered a touch over 15700 miles and passed it’s MOT today with no advisories.
I’m after £1100.
Cheers.

Looks like a nice example.
What's happened to the paint near the headstock in your final picture?

The white patch on the headstock? That's the remnants of a factory production barcode label by the looks of it.

That looks very decent indeed, I wish it was for sale when I bought mine last year.

Thanks chaps. I feel a bit sad selling it as I've done quite a lot to it but haven't really had the chance to use it as intended.
I think I will probably get another CB in the future, albeit a ratty track one, which I wont be scared about throwing down the road!
