Does anyone here know if I can use stick coils with the standard ign box?

Yes you can, I have used them for many years now.
I have actually just had another set arrive yesterday which will be up for sale as soon as the new connectors arrive.

The same answer applies here. I had these on my CB500 and it worked fine, until I crashed it and it was written off. Still have the original working coils and a few other bits that I need to put up for sale. I replaced the coils and then found it was a loose connector in a wiring block that was an issue.
