Universal Speedometer wiring - need help
Hello,
I'm replacing the original dash with a smaller one, but I've some doubts regarding the connections.
Can someone help me?
The wiring diagram for the speedometer is the one bellow.
Acording to the CB 500 wiring diagram the wiring should be the one bellow, am I right or not seeing the all picture?
Universal Speedo Honda Wire diagram
Should this be the wiring equivalent?
Thank you in advance.
Regards

Perhaps you have a newer cb500 than ours? The ones we have all have cable driven mechanical speedos.

Is that a Koso instrument? If you hit the search tab at top of page and enter "koso wiring", you'll find 'Eternally_troubled' posted a chart with the correct wiring. It was really useful to me with my Koso clock and everything worked perfectly. (Many thanks ET)

Speedo on Koso and aftermarket clocks take a magnetic reading from the front wheel the same as a bicycle speedo.liverpool_f_ wrote:Perhaps you have a newer cb500 than ours? The ones we have all have cable driven mechanical speedos.

Hello,
No my CB is not diferent of yours, it as a cable, as Jameshambleton stated the aftermarket speedos have magnetic reading, that part is easy, my doubt is what cables should be connected.
This is not a Koso it is an universal one from Louis.de, bellow is the link for the item.
