just found my next set of tyres BATTLAX BT 003 has any one seen or had thes tyres or are they new out, they do them to fit the cb500 (140/70/17)but i dont think they would be any good in the rain lol.

A bloody great sticky tyre mate that I would sway towards using on track days or guaranteed dry street riding only.

Google BT-003 review and you will get a few hits

seconded on the 090's, they make the bike faster turning than the bt45's, don't last as long but they do indeed grip!
Also, are bridgestone going to keep making them now the 003's are available?

just looking at this thread, does anyone else have any up to date comments? im after the stickiest tyre for road use but would be year round too. not looking at price or mileage at the minute just grip for me. ive got Michelin pilot sporty on atm but not overly convinced on them!
also would anyone recommend a 140 over a 130 for grip purposes?

    HI there,
I bought a pair of BT090's in January and I can give you an update on them, excellent tyre, good grip and still were good in the wet and cold months of late January, February and March. Now the hotter weather is here they are even better. Highly recommended. I have a 140 on the rear, definitely a wise choice, extra grip, and look good too  Cool

Does it not slow the steering having a wider than spec tyre on the rear? How does it affect the handling?

It doesn't effect the steering what so ever from my experience, and with regards to handling it improves it drastically it as its more rubber on the road, they make a huge difference in the bends!!! Cannot go wrong with the 140 rear. BT090's are simply awesome for the CB500
