I want to sell my old cb500 it runs reasonably well and is on the road but I want to upgrade to a newer model if I can. This old bike I want about £500 for it. It has over 65 thou miles and has a flat spot on about 2000 revs. Great donor bike if nothing else

You've mentioned a flat area on revs at 2000 which sounds like the Carb's bowls needing removed to thoroughly clean out the main jets, but a good clean of the pilot jets + float needles + it may need the throttle's push & pull cables needing cleaned out & re-oiled too.

It's good you're being honest about the flat area, but you need to give MORE info on it's state to determine if it's worth buying or not?

Do you have a full service history?

Is the bike's swing arm + exhaust system generally free from corrosion

How much tread is remaining on tyres

Is the bike's paintwork in generally good condition.

How much time is remaining on the bike's MOT certificate

So, you will need to attach photos of your bike from different angles in your posting to help anyone interested in buying it, as one sentence description is not going to help you in the short term!

Yes it has a flat spot or is hard to get going from start and splutters. a bit till you get the revs up. The tyres are good for the year the mot is another couple of months. The swinging arm is good. Exhaust is solid no rust but need cleaning as dull yes there is scratches on it the tank is scratched. But the bike works well it does not burn oil or lose any the electrics are good. Wheels are dirty and need scrubbing back to original I just don't have the time at present or I would restore it completely. Don't know how to post pictures but it's the grey model. I need to sell it to replace it for another one a little better.

    Beresford.
I would buy another cb500 as they are nice machines I just want one easier to look at perhaps with the half fairing. And really I only got five bikes some of which does not go out in the winter unless desperate measures have to be taken.

Had a bit of interest on the old bike but no takers. So i have decided anyone interested who makes me a reasonable offer become the owner. But stupid offers will end up with black eyes.

My Brother I sure will. Not in any rush yet. But I will always pop in and out just to see you are behaving your self. Now you are getting ready to be sold down the Bann by the Government and south. Only joking of course. You know i like the name Bonhomie. Or should it be Bannhomie.
