Where to go now? (Tire question!)
Hy guys!
I've just bought a PC32 CB for my self on the last week I want to change the old LaserTec tires on that bike. Everyone suggest the Bridgestone BR45's or they said I should wait for the new BT46's. But I want something more stickier. I've used BT45's on my Hyosung GT250R and I felt a lot of time that those tires are not stable during high speed cornering. (This bike had 120/70R17 + 150/70R17).
I've asked the local tires and suspension shop what would they suggest and they suggested the Metzeler RoadTec 01, and they told me that I have to avoid wider rear tires because it wont be better if we look at the tires grip ability but they will be harder to ride / corner because I will mess with the factory suspension geometry.
What should i do? I dont find RoadTec01 enough good if I look at them (It look like a tire for rainy days... ) and I cant go up with sizes? I wanted 110/70 on the front and 140/70 on the rear and I looked after Michelin Pilot Road 5... or something else.
What could you suggest me? What to do now? I need stickier tires than BT45 , but can I mess with the sizes?
Oh and one more info! Im looking after something stickier but I want something that can last around 15-16k kms aswell!
I would be grateful for some suggestion for exact tire types and sizes.
Thanks!

Pirelli demon Sports are the way to go, much better than the BT's.

Thanks! Wouldnt be a problem to pair a 110/70 with a 130/80 one? Our local providers doesnt have 110/80 R17 to the front wheel.
And what about tire size change? Is it really a bad idea? I heard that in the Thundersport500 the riders using wider rears. (110/70+140/70)

Pairing those sizes won't be a problem. The 140 is fine too, I found it would drop a bit quicker into corners due to the skinny rim width and how it affected the profile of the tyre. This is beneficial on a track but on a greasy wet road in January it can take some getting used to. I guess it is down to personal taste and riding style.

Thanks! Then I think I will go with a /70 set with a wider rear I hope I wont regret it. How does it look on the bike? Isnt it stupid or weird?(Skinny front, sausage rear )
How about feedback, does a 140/70 rear give enough feedback? Or it can lost grip without any feedback? (My friend on a GS500 experienced that with a wider rear.)
How incorrect will be the speedo with a 110/70 fron tire?

The difference in handling by moving away from the standard recommended setup by the manufacturer will only effect it while cornering & stability of the bike, but that depends how far you tip the bike over at corners and at what speeds in & out you're looking to achieve! That's why the say stick to the manufacturer's recommendation for stability in handling, as it maybe ideal for someone to differ from standard but not for you if you're having to lean over for tight cornering for a quick exit.
This website has an explanation of using wider tyre on a rim designed for a narrower tyre, and the implications of doing that.
