    Bridgestone BT46 Tyres ,
Was looking for a pair of BT45's ,ordered a pair ,got a call from the seller to say they had been superseded by the new BT46 and they would send me a pair at the same cost as 45's .
Anyway had them on about 2 months now ,use the little cb for work and leisure so been used wet and dry ,honest comparison to BT45's = no discernible difference in my humble opinion, no better no worse wet or dry .
Of course this is just my humble personal opinion and it's to early to comment on wear rate.
    Billy.

I had the BT46’s fitted about 4000 miles ago ago, no issues with them. Give a very stable feeling in the wet.
I find that they do ‘tram line’ if the pressures go a few lbs too low, but I think most tyres do that.
Would recommend them to anyone for a CB500.

New BRIDGESTONE BT 46 TYRES Empty Bt46 update 1 year on

Post by billybozo Sun 17 Oct 2021, 6:59 pm

OK,  first reported on the BT46's about a year ago , now roughly 10,000 miles and 12 months on thought I would give an update ,
I use the bike rain and shine to and from work and rest day rides so basically 7 days a week although not when icy , the tyres are perfectly good wet weather tyres , I do regularly check my tyre pressures and as already stated by previous poster they are susceptible to white lines and manhole covers .
I don't ride like an old Bishop in the wet but having said that I'm not as enthusiastic as in the dry .
Wear rate , front ok ,rear squared needs changing and is noticeable now .
Overall a good steady tire wet or dry .
Just my humble opinion of course .
    Billy.

    Thank you Billy.
Similar to you, I am more cautious in the wet and my Avon Roadrider II is not at all inspiring in the wet, though it's perfectly serviceable in the dry. Might be BT46 next for me.

OK so I had a "moment " yesterday on the way home from work ,rounded a left hander on my usual route (country road) ,farmer pulled out of farm Lane in Land rover, had to swerve around him onto opposite side of road ,luckily for me nothing coming in opposite direction, anyway it was one of those "heart in the mouth " moments, had no time to brake ,after 40 years riding I guess my instinct saved me ,anyway as I swerved around him my squared off BT46 rear did not instill a lot of confidence, having said that the road was wet ,covered in mud and leaves, weather cold so maybe even the stickiest tyre would have struggled anyway I've decided they are going to be changed , going to try a pair of "Metezler roadtec 01" ,
Will keep you good folks informed ,
Oh and if your dumb enough to keep riding through winter (like me ) stay safe

Glad to hear you avoided the land rover, and that the BT46 are still working!
