Clocks
My machine is an import from Germany I have used it for 9 years, if I change the clocks from kph to mph am i breaking the law?

Can't see how it could be illegal. At most it will flag at MOT time as clocked if the mileages aren't synced.

No I don't think you are breaking the law. Even if you are, who will know?
It will make the mileage 'jump' in the MOT record which will put some people off buying it - not a problem if you don't want to sell.
I am assuming you (or a previous owner) got the headlight 'fixed' (dipped beam pointing in the correct direction) or you'd be failing the MOT left right and centre
Another 'bodge' way around this is to get some little stickers and apply them to the existing speedo at strategic points - 30, 50 and 70mph would be good ones - you can interpolate for the the other values!

Hi....I once a Honda VTR1000 Firestorm which was an import,speedo in KMH.Isimply bought a second hand speedo in MPH.At MOT time nothing was mentioned. Only issue was true mileage was not accurate.All I did when I sold it was to include original clocks to show change over mileage.
