Hello everyone and thank you for accepting my membership. I signed up today from Italy.
On Wednesday 21 February I purchased a used CB 500 (mod. 1997), 50,000 km, burgundy colour, very beautiful. I am very happy with the purchase. After 11 years without a bike, I start traveling again and with the Honda CB 500, which I rode a few times when my brother had it (my brother had the 1998 CB 500 S).
The bike has a "Mass Tromb Inox" silencer (it is a brand produced in Sicily: https://www.massmoto.it/), which has a particular sound (but I also have the original silencer removed); K&N air filter; Hagon rear shock absorbers; Givi windshield; Givi frame for trio of bags; Continental ContiGo! tires. It does not have the center stand (which was removed by the first owner) but only the sidestand; but I intend to assemble the center stand again.
I hope to have fun with the motorbike and I am sure that I will be happy in this forum, where there are many expert people and I have already found a lot of news.
Thanks to everyone and greetings from Italy. Smile

welcome and enjoy the CB !!

the center stand is a hell out of assistance.
if you remove all these Givi parts, you'll see what a beautiful bike it is, especially the shark head shaped cowl

    keep and ride safe !!

    Wow. A burgundy coloured model.

Welcome Alpino, we're happy to see you.

The CB500 is - in my eyes - particularly well suited for traveling. Comparatively large tank combined with a fairly frugal engine gives you good range. Unobtrusive looks let you blend in. Maneuvrability (compared to bigger, heavier bikes it's a doddle to flick the CB around) and a certain knack to inspire confidence lets you have proper fun. Add to that the reliability and no-nonsense philosophy and you have a great travel-companion.

Mine has been all over Europe. German autobahn, climbing mountain passes, along the Cote d'Azur, 2-up with the wife in Toscana, IBA certification ride - everything I've thrown at it just got executed with no fuss.

I think you are going to be happy with your bike too.
