Anyone got a tatty seat covering?
My seat was split (thanks to my cat, jumping up and digging her claws into it)
I brought a covering off ebay £25, then had to buy a industrial staple gun £17.
Result, a brand new looking seat.
(No more wet arse for me. or sticky glue on my butt off the gaffer tape id been using to cover it)
I cant give the ebayer who sold the seat cover yet, but if anyones interested I'll find it. if anyone wants a pic of the new seat cover I'll post one.
Its not a quick job, (removing the old seat covering, so many bloody staples, a medium sized flat screwdriver and a pair of plillars are needed)
And when you fit the new covering, you got to pull it this way and that.
But the end result is, a brand new covering, it looks good and you done it yourself.

Re: Anyone got a tatty seat covering?
Thank god for that, thought I was the only one that had the claw treatment. As it happens my moggy did exactly the same thing (She's known as "Suki" to the family, but "Killer" to the rest of the street BTW)
Would be interested in doing the same thing, and looking at prices from various local firms that might be able to do the job.

What staple gun did you use? When I took mine off to take some foam out to lower it, getting the cover back on was a nightmare. I thought I had an industrial staple gun, but the staples were pinging out all the time. The cover is now very tenuously held on with about 8 staples! (Thats all I could get to stay in!)

Re: Anyone got a tatty seat covering?
I used a harris (model number fact 3063) cost me £16.99, and that was from a little shop up the road from me. I used 8mm staples. I had about 5 or 6 staples that didn't go in properly. That aint too bad considering you need to fire in thousands (ok, thats a lie, but it seemed like thousands when I done it, lol).
Because of the curves in the seat, you really need to get the angle of the staple gun right before you fire them in..
Good luck Stormy.

If anyone wants any advice on how to re cover the seat. just ask. I'm on this website every couple of days.
Btw To get the seat off, I just undone the 3 nuts on the hinge and lifted it off.
10mm socket needed.
