Wingrack and fitting kit Empty Wingrack and fitting kit

    Post by The_Wasp Sat 05 Mar 2016, 8:14 pm

    Hi all,

after a tour in Scotland on my CB500 last year I decided that panniers weren't for me. I prefer the top box/roll bag combo on this bike. Maybe with another bike panniers may come in to their own, I just tour enough to make them worthwhile.

So I want to sell the Wingrack and the fitting kit, that I sourced with great difficulty from a seller in Poland, and get myself a Monorack that I used to have before I got the Wingrack.

It is all there, fixings and everything. On my bike the plate for the top box actually touches the tail fairing as the side plates tilt inward slightly, maybe there is a bend in the fitting kit somewhere. I have not rectified and used a stack of washers to raise the plate slightly, a square of nylon/abs/aluminium would be better though. I've had n issues with the rack itself and it performed excellently on my tour. The Wingrack could do with a rub down and a coat of paint as it is flaking in places but it is solid.

I'd be looking for £80 ono posted, I won't include the top plate or indicators in the sale. I'd consider a straight swap for a set of Monorack arms without a plate of course.

Do you have the panniers too? I have a top box rack that I bought last year and haven't fitted yet as I haven't needed to use it yet. I think that's a givi but not sure . I will check and get back to you.

I haven't got any panniers I'm afraid, I got rid of them ages ago. I intend to keep the top box. I'm interested to see what rack to have to offer, keep me posted.

Are the indicators far enough back to clear any side panniers that you fit? The ones on my kappa rack, seem to go a bit further back, and look a bit more integrated:

The indicators did clear my old Kappa 40l panniers just about. They aren't givi indicators, they are a pair of standard aftermarket ones that are mounted on steel brackets I found in wilkos. I soldered on extra wire to make them real and crimped on some bullet connectors.

They aren't pretty but do the job of something costing 5 times as much!

Hi, I have't mastered the dark art of posting pics yet, so if you give me your emal address I can send you a couple of pics. It is a Givi Monorack system and I was told all the fitting kit was included
