Meet up in SE England

Hi all,

I had meant to do this earlier in the year but it has been a very hectic summer. Does anyone in SE England fancy meeting up next weekend for a bit of a ride? For reference, i would be heading out from Kingston, SW London. Probably into Surrey somewhere. 

As a side note, my participation is dependant on some successful cb boggery this Tuesday when i am back in the country. If there is interest though and i can't make it maybe others still can. 

I will gauge interest before making any definitive plans

It's completely the wrong side of London for me sadly but I know there are other people on here who aren't that far away from that part of the world, so hopefully you will find someone.

Yes, I would be interested.  I'm near Gatwick, so not that far from you.

I'm interested depending on what sort of turn out we are looking at and if its the Saturday or Sunday you were thinking of...

What day suits best? I took the opportunity to pick the weekend my wife is not in the country so I am flexible!

Ah sorry I would have said yes as I've been thinking about a ride out but if got my dad down visiting over the weekend.

I will keep bumping this one for the next few days because I don't think people check the social section that much. At least if it appears on the home page some other folks might take an interest.

Magicman Alex is also hoping to come along.

Maybe 5 if Alex can convince his brother to come.  Do you have an idea where to go?  How about heading for Whiteways at Bury Hill?

That sounds like a nice blast but for me it would be 50 miles to get there before going on a 'ride.' Can people stick down their approximate locations so we can have a look at the map. Maybe we can congregate along the route depending on where people are starting out from.

JerryFudd, Alex and I, are all close to Crawley, West Sussex. Is that 'en-route' for you?

Thats a bit closer. Maybe we could meet up in Crawley and take a trip to Whiteways from there.

Yes, I'm game. Trying to get my brother a rental bike. He can't go on our insurance as he only has a U.S. licence.

There's a rental place in Chichester that will rent to him. Is there a rental place anywhere closer to Crawley that anyone knows of?

Have you tried P&H?  They might let him 'test drive' something.  Or maybe NorthEast in Horley.

I would prefer to go in the morning, but if 1pm suits everyone, I'll move the other stuff.
