Hello all, so sorry if this topic isn't meant to be in General.

I just brought a 2002 CB500S, just had to after the test ride love how it feels and it was cheap and low millage. Anyways, the front suspension has seen better days was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy either an upgrade or replacement seals for the forks as they have no damping left.
I am a major pleb so anything cheap is super cheerful.

P.S Its my first A2 big bike and my first ever Honda, would love to be pointed to any resources that'll help me Smile

Well, if the damping is no good then you should probably change the fork oil as well as the seals, this can help - if the seals are knackered then the oil has probably all leaked out.

To change the fork oil you need to remove the forks, tip out the old oil, springs etc, put in the correct amount of new oil and change the seals and put it all back together.  The Haynes manual can tell you how to do it, there's probably a link to one somewhere on this site and/or facebook.

The seals are readily available from wemoto, M&P and/or ebay.  Just make sure you get ones for the correct CB500 (there was a really old one back in the 1970s, 'our' 1990s one and the 'new' one).
