Re: Adjustable levers
I'm hoping so.
From the way I read it they will bolt straight on to pre Brembo models.
I'll let you know in a month or so when these arrive from China.

Re: Adjustable levers
would these fit my 2003 CB500 with the brembo brakes? I have brembo race leavers etc on my cbr929rr and would like my humble commuter to have them too

Re: Adjustable levers
I'm sure someone with more info will be along soon, but I think you will struggle to find levers to fit the Brembo master cylinder.

Re: Adjustable levers
Have you considered powdercoating a pair?
Some places offer metallic coating and the finish will last compared to normal paint.

Re: Adjustable levers
Just to confirm the '98-'06 Hornet levers fit straight onto the Nissin brake equipped models.

Shorty Levers
My 500 has shorty levers on, and I made them myself.... Well, unless you count dropping the bike off a kerb and letting the apprentice have a quick spin in the yard with the bike. So sort of accidental shortys? Still works fine though

Re: Adjustable levers
I have just fitted a new cb500x master cylinder as the bike has only done 10,000 miles the Brembo
front lever had very little travel making the brake feel wooden.
The improvement is first class and it has also allowed me to fit some flip up levers to the bike.
Just a note that if anyone else looks at doing this the brake bolt that fits into the master cylinder on the 500x is of a coarser thread than the Brembo one.

Re: Adjustable levers
Think the small Ducati monster uses the same Brembo master cylinder. More research needed.
Maybe old BMW 650 GS also

They'll fail the MOT if they don't have the blobs on the end though.

Re: Adjustable levers
Mine is a'97 too and those ebay ones look good. Just not sure how well the master cylinder on the ebay lever will work with the Brembo caliper.
All to do with feel and efficiency......techy stuff beyond me
Surely it must be possible to find just a lever. That caliper and master cylinder can't be unique to the CB500 can it?

Re: Adjustable levers
Fazer 600 used Brembo and the brake lever looks like it might fit. Gonna try a swap tomorrow
Reduced the span of the clutch lever by removing the locking disc on the lever adjuster and then screwing whats left of the adjuster fully home in the lever housing. It then protrudes into where the lever seats and stops it going fully home.
Obviously, now you cannot adjust the cable from the lever end but it's easy enough to do the adjustment down by the engine.

Re: Adjustable levers
Got one that fits my 1997 CB500's Brembo caliper at last
My local mechanic had a good rummage in his levers box and came up trumps. What a difference it has made, I can comfortably reach the brake and when using it i have a better grip and a more 'easy to modulate' position.
Cost is £17.50 posted and a bit cheaper if you live within range of Penge, SE London and can collect. Otherwise he says he will post, just email him at:-
dave@davewilkinsmotorcycles.co.uk
Again i will say that i have no commercial connection with this guy, just a satisfied customer.
Piccie tomorrow

Re: Adjustable levers
Well not exactly but i'm sure they are the same. As soon as he found the right one i went off happy.
Doesn't look too shiny in the piccie but i can assure you it is shiny !!
BTW got a mate with an older Fazer 600 so when i see her i'll do the comparison properly.

Re: Adjustable levers
Haven't seen the Fazer owner yet but i'm reasonably sure that the older Fazer 600 lever fits. Also think the Pan European one is compatible too. The one i got has a code of 531400 on the packet so that might give you a lead.
