Mirrors
Like other people on the site I find the standard mirrors hopeless. If anyone knocks them they swing loose and the adjustment is minimal. I have now bought a pair from http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/. They offer chrome and black and the stem has a friction adjustment with a ball type adjustment on the mirror end so you can re-set/alter them without a spanner. For £40 they seem to make a lot of difference.

Re: Mirrors
Which ones did you buy exactly?
I found these but can't tell if they have the friction adjustment.
This is my biggest bugbear; I've bought quite a few different types of mirror over the years and they all seem to move when you get above 60mph! Getting a pair that tighten up when adjusted would be bliss!

Mirror part no
I bought part no 1 x Mirrors Honda CB500 1997-03 (589510) = £35.13 which is actually a pair of round chrome mirrors. Hope that helps.

Re: Mirrors
Thanks for that mate It's a shame they don't do rectangular ones, I'll have to have a nose around M&P to get some ideas. Either that or get the current ones in the perfect position & araldite them!

LocTite is better than Araldite. I believe that there are rectangular equivalents to the ones I bought. The giveaway is to look at the enlarged picture and see the double hexagon at the handlebar end. What you do is fit the lower hexagonal adapter to the brake/clutch lever. Inside the smaller hexagon is a nut which you adjust with a long 10mm socket.

Re: Mirrors
I think we're getting our wires crossed!
I don't mean the mirror arm coming loose, it's the balljoint that gets sloppy. Now if there were a mirror that allowed you to set the angle of the head & lock it off I'd grab it in a flash!

The head is on a ball joint that is friction controlled

And you can adjust the friction?
Sorry for sounding dimwitted, typing isn't the best medium for a conversation!

Mirrors
It seems to be pre-set quite firmly. That is I don't expect it to shift in the wind but I can adjust it quite easily.

Re: Mirrors
Just bought a pair of these:

I've not fitted them yet, but they seem quite good on first impressions.

Re: Mirrors
Bought these for mine - good quality, easy enough to adjust and they stay put when you're on the move...
