Solved New User with a Question

Post by DiscoLew Sat 02 Mar 2013, 10:44 pm

Hi All,

Passed my test at the start of January (on a CB500) and am now looking to buy my first big bike. I loved the CB500, but found the position of the rear brake lever a little cramped (I'm 6'4"). Does anyone know of a way of modifying the lever to give a little more room for the taller rider?

Great forum btw, looking forward to getting involved!!

Cheers,
Lew

There's a distance adjustor on the operating rod beneath the rear brake master cylinder behind the right hand footrest hanger. It's a bit of a sod to get to, but this should give you the height you need for the pedal.

Hope this helps

Thanks very much for the response! Do you know how much adjustment this allows?

Hang on a mo......

Right, just been out to take a look, and it's about an inch left on mine at the rod, which will probably give another 2 inches down. I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall and built like a giraffe (all bleedin' limbs)and this level suits me fine.

Sounds like we're the same build then mate! That's put my mind at ease, thanks very much for looking at it for me Smile Hopefully I'll be back posting pics of my new bike soon!
