    Hi everybody.

Not got a cb yet but am keeping an eye out over winter to see if I can get one at a reasonable price (Poor old pensioner you know!)

I have a couple of XBR500.s at mo but would like to get a bit more uumph out of corners again.

I passed my bike test in 1966. It was a bit of a laugh in them days. . . Twice round the block with examiner watching from pavement!

I've done a few miles since then though. last ten years before retiring I was an ADI (Car).

Came back to biking in 04 with a Bandit 600. then a VTR Firestorm, VFR800, & an 06 Fireblade.

    Then I had a supid idea . . . I swapped fb for a Scooter! (Majesty 400)

If any of you ever consider doing that . . Make sure your back can take the stress. Mine didn't like the change of position at all.

    Enjoying this site already

Welcome Tricky, that's quite a mix of bikes you've had!
I'm a baby by comparison, passed by test in '98. The only bike I've ever had is the CB! It does things so well though that I can't justify chopping it in. It's cheap and easy to fix and it munches up the miles!

Hey thats nowt to before that . . .

    BSA D7 Bantam, C15, Honda CD175 (sloper), Triumph T90, T100. Yamaha YDS5E. All before 1971

And yes . .  that's why I fancy a CB. My XBR is so easy to work on.
I reckon it might be similar in a lot of ways.

    Hehe...

I'm collecting funny quotes and thought-inducing bylines as a small hobby. Here's one for you:

    --------------
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid across the line broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out, leaking oil, shouting GERONIMO!
