Simmi Exhausts
Has anyone fitted a Simmi can to their CB? Are they as good as/better than Fuel?

Re: Simmi Exhausts
Hi,
best answered on the racing site, think they are the manufacturer of choice for the track.
Doubt there's anything in it as on 50 odd bhp to play with. Lot of micron aftermarket cans around - some with link pipe to exit on the left (= removing pillion pegs and centrestand) but some exit on the right. Bigger jets a good idea as is a carb balance.

Thanks, I had seen good reviews of Fuel but none of Simmi

Re: Simmi Exhausts
Well, I finally bought and fitted a Simmi end can. Having read reviews on this and other forums regarding all options, the choice came down to Simmi or Fuel, and, believe it or not the final decision was taken to go for Simmi because I preferred their logo on the can. I went for a 400mm stainless oval can on the advice of Jeff at Simmi, and having ridden a few hundred miles, I can report the bike sounds (much) better, is slightly "fluffy" below 2500 RPM but goes much better thereafter and, if anything, isĀ slightly more fuel efficient than before!

Good stuff.
Looking at one of these cans myself as mine is starting to develop a couple of pinholes near the first weld.
You running with the DB killer in or out?

Hi Davie, I'm running with the baffle in, which produces a satisfying, not too anti-social sound!

Re: Simmi Exhausts
I see what you mean about running with the baffle in
I went for a 400 Oval as well based on what Jeff told you.
Really could have done with a P type strap tho.
Does yours pop on the over-run quite a lot? Not sure if that's normal or if it's because of the K&N Filter.

Re: Simmi Exhausts
Good, I was wondering if I might need re-jetting.
Suppose you might if your running de-baffled.

Re: Simmi Exhausts
I took the plugs out of mine at the weekend, they were a nice light brown/grey colour, so mixture can't be far off

Re: Simmi Exhausts
That's good to hear.
From what I've read elsewhere it's only when you change the full system you need a re-jet. Must be a slight change in downpipe diameter that messes with the backpressure.
