Rear brake
Changed the rear tyre last week, while the wheel was out I investigated the noise I was getting when the CB5 was wheeled backwards. I discovered that the retaining plate (the one that the pad sits on) had sheared one of its tangs, so the pad was sitting on the calipher itself and had worn a groove so the pad couldn't slide back. I now discovered that Honda do not supply a part number for this retainer? Looked at the CBF500 rear which they supply a part number for but its a different type. The CB5 pads will also fit the Dominator, you guessed it no part number for that either!
So off to the local bike breakers who told me he had never broken a CB5,but I was welcome to have a look through what he had. I found one that looked the same but it was taller, so I had that, and with a bit of cutting and bending I had it resembling the original. So fitted it all back together and it seems ok. I do not know what bike that retainer came off.

Re: Rear brake
No. Its the one on the left of the calipher bracket, the one with no number.

Re: Rear brake
Ahh I guess they classify it as part of the slider, when really it is another separate part- thats annoying. I just had a look at mine on the front and it comes off pretty easily.
