Shorty levers

I've had these on the bike for a while, I thought I'd give them a proper test before I posted about them.

They are the cheap Ebay jobbies that fit the Nissin brake, so fit the earlier models.

They have a slightly squarer profile that the standard levers, but are every bit as comfy, even on a long day. The anodising has stood up well over the few months I've had them on the bike, they are outside all of the time and look like new, not worn where your fingers go, like some I've seen.

The adjust is good, but once you set them up I doubt you'll ever bother adjusting them again, just get them comfy and leave them.

They are shorter than standard, but not stupidly short, I can use them with three fingers, even with winter gloves. I'm used to covering the levers with two fingers anyway, I throw back to riding tuned two strokes that can go pop at any minute.

All in all a worthwhile investment. I keep my originals under the seat in case the bike falls over and snaps a lever and these weren't much more than a pair of patent parts.

they look great mate i want some for my 97 model but cant find them!

I don´t know if these would fit me since i put my hand very far on the handlebar.

There are other styles on Ebay as well.

Delivery time is about 4 weeks from China/Hong Kong, but they are much cheaper than buying from the UK.

..I take it then they won't work on my Brembo system? The one thing that annoys me most about my CB is the brake lever not being adjustable.

As far as I know you can't find levers for the Brembo brakes, the only way to do it is to fit a complete Nissin brake to the front.

I am happy to be corrected on this, but others have looked as well.

These aren't listed as compatible with the CB500, but the part numbers do match and they fit perfectly.

is the clutch lever (in the ebay link) for a cable clutch? would of thought the hornet would of been hydraulic.

The Hornet has a cable clutch, or at least the early ones do, I'm not sure about the later ones.

Those are the levers I got and they bolted straight on.
