Hi just built my cb500 back up after some winter work, I have connected the temp sensor and the plug under the left rad cover but have a wire spare and can't locate it I have ran the bike up and the fan is not activating can so I'm guessing this is the fan live can anyone help and shed some light where it connects please

Possibly the rad fan earth, it usually connects to the rad fan top bolt with an eyelet crimp.

You can test that the fan works by grounding the connection to the fan switch - this should make the fan come on.
