The New CB500
So is the new NC700 Honda the new CB500. It's a twin and it's being marketed as an ecomonical commuter.
So will we have a website devoted to the NC(New Concept) when the model is phased out or will we still be on our trusted and reliable CB5's.
I've got fly by wire already they are called cables!! All you do is just oil them.

Re: The New CB500
Call me old fashioned but I far prefer the look of our retro bikes.
Apart from which I'd be damned if I was caught riding a "bike/scooter hybrid"!

it is like a scooter
Just look at the frame...
plus 700 cc engine and just 46...or 48 BHP
I prefer the CB

Re: The New CB500
Having a standard"platform" is supposed to reduce costs it is similar to the way they build cars. The engine only revs quite low hence I guess the very reduced bhp output and the tank is under the seat! I was told that automatic motorcylces don't sell too well in the UK as in France,Italy etc. they fly off the shelf.
I'd like a test ride though!!

NC700
Putting aside its association with scooters, I find aspects of the NC700 exciting. Maximising the torque at low revs at the expense top end power at stratospheric revs is always a good idea with me. You may have guessed that I`ve had turbo diesel cars for many years and love the way they drive. You can waft along on the flat torque curve in a relaxing fashion minimizing engine wear and maximising economy.
This, I find, is a rare ability with modern motorcycles and one I would value greatly. How many people use the rev range close to the red line ( other than to post pointless videos on You Tube)?
If the wet weight of 228kg. of the NC700 could be pared down it would be even more exciting as the appearance of the roadster is quite acceptable.
