I have just bought my cb500, which has mixed tyres. Dunlop Arrowmax front & Avon Road Rider rear. rear is nearly new, front has some life left so I don't want to buy new before next year as I don't ride in winter (too old) lol. steering is fine, stability is a bit off! any suggestions on tyre pressures? I am 18 stone affraid

Damn. That forced me to go out and actually check my tyres, as usually I just blow 'em up until they feel right when I kick them. pirat   They were at 36 F and 40 R. Metzeler Lasertecs. Had them since I bought the bike 4500 miles ago and the rear is just coming up for replacement. I haven't any complaints with them . I don't know how they would compare with other tyres as I have nothing to compare them to, but the one thing I like is that they seem very predictable when at the limits of grip and let me know when to ease off.

Yeah, running similar 36/40 now 'cos it handled like shit with the factory recommendations Crying or Very sad

With it fully loaded up this w/e i went up another 5psi both ends and it was still fine.

Rear is pretty well worn and front is about half gone.

After reading this thread, I tried 33/36. What a difference to original spec. I wouldn't have thought that a few psi could make such a difference. Cheers guys
