wheel balancing weights, what to re-attach them with? Empty wheel balancing weights, what to re-attach them with?

Post by muttley1 Tue 15 Sep 2015, 5:37 pm

Hi,
as per title. I did a rarely seen cleanup today and noticed a wheel balancing weight had come loose. Does it need special glue/adhesive pad to redo it? I'd be taking the weight off, cleaning the metalwork where it was and starting again.

cheers

Double sided tape? It's probably something similar that was on there originally.

If you know of anywhere that makes and fits numberplates, you could scrounge a few of the double-sided sticky pads they use. They are the best quality I have come across.

I'll second that. They are pretty sticky. If you can't get one of them then you could try car trim tape or carpet tape - both are really sticky!

If you can't get any of them then superglue will probably be fine.

Which ever option you choose the final outcome will stick much better if you've cleaned it up and degreased before sticking (apologies if you alread know this).
