exhaust

Hi guys,
A quick question,I've just bought a full Delkavic exhaust system,they say that a re-jetting is not needed,anyone fitted a full system and had to re-jet?

I wouldn't know the symptoms of needing a rejet but I've got motad pipes with a Beowulf link and silencer and rides great.

I don't know about the instructions with the delkevic but the advice with my motad was to loosely fit the front on the engine and rear to the hanger then tighten the center section and then bolt up as one complete unit - I imagine as it will reduce the problems of a less than perfect fit.

I bought the delkelvic ss70 full system I found i needed to upsize the pilot jet to stop the popping on overrun(sounded like a machine gun) I also wrapped my baffle with fibreglass to give al little more back pressure as the bike would need a little rev to start I checked plugs after about 600miles and there spot on

What size pilot jet did you get?and did you change the air filter too?..it's the first time i'm doing this so,i'm a bit green around the gills,so all advice is welcome mate

Just on the subject of overrun pops /bangs for a sec - I've got two cb500s, both with de-baffled Fuel cans. One's a drum brake, the other's a later disc model (despite the reg plate years being the opposite way round!) - and the drum's overrun is hilariously cacophonous. By contrast the disc's is comparatively bland. I do think though that the drum runs rich. It's a fumier to ride behind, apparently. So whether that accounts for the pops I'm not sure.
