Spot Lights.

I'm adding a pair of spot lights to the bike, in the current form they run 2x55watt halogen bulbs, will the electrical system handle the extra draw?I have the option of using 2x20watt bulbs instead,i don't really want to upgrade the alternator/regulato or use LED bulbs,any advise please.

You won't get another 110w out of the standard system, that's for sure. 

Even 2 x 20w is going to be tight. I'd also question whether or not the performance would be worth the bother. 

Unless you're dead set on the visual aesthetic of twin auxiliary lamps, I'd think you'd get a better performance improvement by fitting a high output headlight bulb. I used an Osram "Nightbreaker" 55/55w bulb in mine (100% higher output than standard, but the same current draw). The improvement was quite remarkable.

Thanks for the reply,I'm already using the night breaker bulb so I guess yes it is more of an aesthetic look I'm after + adding a safety factor being more visual to other drivers.

In that case, I'd recommend you investigate a low current LED option. 4 or 5 watts of LEDs will give you way more than conventional bulbs.

I'd say that you've got about 35watts to play with on the stock system, obviously a mosfet reg/rec would help a great deal as it's way more efficient but it's a costly mod at £70

Are you just using the bulb in the standard wiring?
If so I would strongly recommend using relays as mentioned in a previous thread to uprate the power actually reaching the bulb.
