Dashboard clock
Greetings all!
I got enough of asking myself what time it was when riding, wondering if I should stop for my hourly break or not, so I came up with a
cheap and effective solution: a watch and a piece of heavy duty double-sided tape.
For those wondering, the exact model is a Casio F-91W, one of Casio's 90's glories, so it's right at home on the old Honda :p
It's dirt cheap as well, around 10€.
Ride safe,
Valentin.

Re: Dashboard clock
Excellent! When I sold my previous cb5 a while back, one of the people who came to look at it had a similar watch fixed to her 125. I thought it was a brilliant idea, butcould never find one. Just searched that model on ebay & there's loads - thanks!
I've had 3 or 4 'bike' clocks & they've all been rubbish.

I like analog. This is a cheap-as-chips ebay russian watch. £6.00 delivered, and it keeps good time too.

Re: Dashboard clock
Well doen for taking some photots - I've done this before (on other bikes) but I didn't take any photos. I used self-adhesive velcro to stick mine down - then you can take it off when you need to change the battery.
Beresford - that watch looks cool, do you have a link to the ebay auction or seller (or was it years ago)?

I fitted it about 2 years ago. I just went looking for a "black faced watch" and sorted the search to list from 'cheapest+p&p' first. Also checked the dial size to make sure I could see it when it was on top of the dash. It's mounted on an 'L' shaped piece of stainless, using double sided sticky pads like you mount number plates with. I just rip it off when the battery has to be changed.
It's not much use at night, though.

Re: Dashboard clock
I got a Chinese one off EBay a few years ago. The battery only lasts about a year, but it still works and looks good. Only cost about £10

Re: Dashboard clock
Nice setup Beresford! Big dial up high in the center must make it easy to read. I initially though of a similar L-shaped mount but the double-sided tape was just easier for me :p
sullivj, I had seen those clocks but they were just too low for me since I use a tank bag right in front of it.
I'm glad to see everyone has their own solution to the problem !

Anything is better than paying 30 quid for one of these - your CASIO will probably be more waterproof!

Ahah, more waterproof, I don't know, but cheaper that's for sure.
Unless you plan on going scuba diving with your bike, the watch should be fine though!

My stick-on solution is fine so far as it goes, but what I'd really like is an ignition controlled illuminated gauge which could be a clock and a voltmeter. something like this
Has anybody on here tried something like this ?

Not tried one of these, but I can see the point. Is that a stick on one for a car dashboard?
If it says 15.8 volts on a CB500 then you need a new regulator-rectifier! A few more miles later you'll need a new battery....
