Any tips on how to release a fork seal on a 1995 CB500. Just failed big time using the pulling the stantion so that the lower bush hits against upper bush and seal method. The seal didn't move after a lot of effort and it kept jamming - is one bush catching inside the other? Heat didn't help. Are these known to be tight - it looks so easy on YouTube.

Have you popped the dust seal out and removed the circlip that holds the seal in place?

It always looks easy on youtube Smile Assuming you have removed the dust seal and the circlip, then applying the heat and being persistent is the way forward.

There are other methods (like filling the fork with water, compressing it and using water pressure to pop it out) but they aren't as easy.
