Breaking a 2000 CB500S
Hey everyone,
I'll be breaking a CB500S in the next week or so, so most parts are available from that. I'll be keeping some for myself as spares but just ask and I'll let you know. Not looking to make any huge amounts of profit, just cover what I paid so the bits I need are free!
It's a black low mileage S with all the fairings. 8300 miles on the clock in good condition. Rocker cover has been left off and open to the rain so I expect most engine internals to be scrap.
Original shocks have a good amount of surface rust but I'll check their operation.
Seat in good condition.
All fairings in good nick apart from a hefty scratch on the upper left side.
All the usual footrest hangers etc available.
Full Givi wing rack
Happy to post what I can, otherwise collection from Fareham in Hampshire.
Nothing will be getting scrapped so no rush, if you see this post in a few months time chances are they'll still be available.
Parts now sold:
Seat
Side panels
All fairings
Clocks/Speedo
Rear shocks
Rear light
Mirrors
GIVI Wing Rack
Footrests
Brake and gear levers
Bars
Switchgear

I am very interested in the full wingrack, but it will need to be couriered up to Scotland though. What are you you wanting for this and there will be the courier costs on top of this. Let me know, thanks.

Re: Breaking a 2000 CB500S
No problem shipping it up there for you. I'll take a better look at it this morning to see how small it will split down for packing. I've got some photos here I'll send you, not in the photo are the small brackets/spacers that slide into the subframe at the rear. I think I've still got all of the bolts in the frame that came out, but any that are missing are generic metric bolts, will check and let you know.
I honestly have no idea what these are worth, there seems to be some on eBay between £75 and £100 without the panniers. I'd be happy with £50+ postage if that sounds reasonable to you?
Are you highlands or one of the extra costing areas?

Re: Breaking a 2000 CB500S
I think I paid £50 for my wingrack that I've got in the shed, so about the right sort of price. IIRC skyerae is normal postage rates.

Re: Breaking a 2000 CB500S
Unfortunately I bought it as spares/repairs because someone left the rocker cover off and left it outside! I've not stripped the engine down yet but I expect it to be scrap.
The rocker cover wasn't there when I collected it.

Re: Breaking a 2000 CB500S
Not separated them yet, will do this afternoon and get more photos, but I don't see any reason why the join would be hiding anything. Again, don't know what they're worth so I'll have a look on eBay to get an idea later on, feel free to make an offer in the mean time.

I'll check tomorrow on that, I did sell one a couple of weeks ago but think I've got a spare. I can be in either Fareham or Lyneham near Swindon

Sorry, not much left of this bike I'm afraid. I'll update the thread when I get a chance with what is left.
