Cb500 cafe racer build

Hi guys, thought i would upload a few pics of my build so far.

I bought a half made cb500 off a chap which was all intact and working but really poorly done.


It was in the unit 5 minutes before it looked like this


New ram air filters were added


I sanded the tank back to bare metal, masked off and painted then clear coat




The seat cowl was bolted to where the standard seat went which doesnt create the flat look that a cafe racer is known for so i welded in some raised brackets and hid the battery and wiring in the back of the seat while i was at it.



New led lights were added with built in indicators to clean the bike up, hagon shocks were reconditioned and engine painted







Other mods are -
Quick action throttle
A lot larger fuel jets
New small speedo
Wire relocation
Mot work

- Next jobs on the list are to get a new seat made as the one on it is nasty to look at and uncomfortable
- dyno run and tune
- 42 tooth sprocket and new chain

Cb500 isn't an easy task turn her into a cafe racer though..  Nice tank line and seat indeed.

She looks really good, considering how hard it is to get the lines right on a cb500 and the addition that you had someone else work on it - she's turned out exceptional!!! I'll fix your images when I get round to it

A good example of what's possible

Its not perfect and was built in a shed but i bought the bike and modded it for £850 which i thinks a bargain

Ive had a lot bigger jets added and it runs ok but still needs tuning properly so ive booked it in for a dyno tune. Il let you no how it goes.
The noise from the carbs is amazing though

Update on the air filters, ive had the bike on the dyno today with 160 main jets fitted. The bike pulls really well all through the rev range now

Ive just hit reserve so il fill up and see how many miles i get. My bike is a sunny day toy so it doesnt matter to me as much

Finally fitted some tank decals as everyone kept asking what it was lol.
