Brake caliper piston and seals Empty Brake caliper piston and seals

    Post by cb1300rider Sun 27 Oct 2013, 10:08 am

    Hi all

I am looking to buy a new set of pistons and seals for my 1997 cb500 front caliper.

Looking on Lings Honda they list the 2 pistons as being 30 X 28.5mm and 32 X 28.5mm.

I have looked on wemoto and they  sell both pistons and seals and sets.

They do not specify a size of the large piston, but they do specify the small piston is 30 x 29mm long.  Will this be an occasion when size really does matter??

My question is, first off has anyone used the wemoto caliper piston and seal sets before?   Do you guys / girls on here recommend Honda OE parts for this job?  Opinions on whether or not the Wemoto offerings are worth a go?

Price wise - Wemoto £57.53 all in  Lings £87.85 all in or D.Silver £85.12

    Thanks in advance

The diameter is critical - if the half a mm difference is in the depth of the piston then it won't matter - your brake pads wear more than this!

I haven't had a problem with stuff from wemoto, so I suspect they will fit.
