Cam Chain Tensioner Locking Key
Hi,
Has anyone got a cam chain tensioner locking key they'd be willing to lend me? I know the manual states that you can make one - but I don't have the tools to do it at the mo.
Hopefully I would only need to borrow it for a while just to test the currently fitted tensioner, and then if necessary to help me replace it with a spare that I've got hold of. I would then return it to you!
Best Wishes,
Jim

Thanks Tricky,
Yeah I know, but I as hoping to use the proper tool to be able to lock it off, if someone had one available.

Re: Cam Chain Tensioner Locking Key
I used a proper Honda key when I replaced the CCT on my Blackbird. I made my own key when I replaced the CBs CCT, but as Tricky said, you might as well use a screwdriver - that's what I'll be doing next time.
You're welcome to have the one I made, I'm pretty sure I know where it is (it's very small), but honestly; screwdriver.

Re: Cam Chain Tensioner Locking Key
Thanks badseeds,
As I say, I know a screwdriver will work, but especially if I do decide the old one needs to come out, I would like to be able to lock it off to get it out, rather than relying on being able to hold the screwdriver in position whilst trying to slide the tensioner out past the air filter housing - and the same goes for putting the replacement one in!
I'll send you a PM with my home address. Thanks again for the offer.
Regards,
Jim
