Hi all
I'm unsure if I need to change my could I've checked the reading from them
1.  3.1 second 18.5
2. 3.0 second  18.4

Does this wrong to anyone in the know I've got a leak spark and can only think of the coils after fitting new plugs
Cheers

Is that the resistance of the coils?

Haynes suggests that the primary winding of the coil should be 2.6 to 3.2 ohms and the secondary winding should be 17.2 to 22.8 kilo-ohms (assuming you measured it with the plug cap still attached).

So, assuming your numbers are what I think they are, that suggests your coils resistance measures up OK.

Have you given the HT leads a good look? The insulation does sometimes crack and then they need replacing.

Hi thanks for the reply. I did still have the leads on when testing sorry it wasn't very clear Smile
I now have the bike running I was testing the leads as the bike was running really bad I thought I'd cleaned the carbs out but the pilots were still blocked I stripped them down again yesterday and this time cleaned everything back to the tank now the bike is running well I still need to sync the carbs but I need to get gauges so it's a job for another day I'll be booking a mot tomorrow and with a little luck I'll be back on the road after 10 years
Cheers

You can almost 'hear' when the carbs are in sync, so you could give it a twiddle and see what happens - having said that, if it isn't *really* lumpy then they might not be that far out as they are.

Good luck with the MOT.
