Bar End Mirrors?
Bar End Mirrors seem to be in fashion, and I was wondering if anyone had fitted them to their CB500?
If I decide to fit some to my bike, are there any considerations, i.e. does the size of the bar end differ from one brand to another, etc?

Re: Bar End Mirrors?
I tried these ebay items. They needed the bar end weights to be machined to fit. But then I fell off and wrecked them ( keeps happening ) so I tried another version.
However in heavy traffic I was uneasy about the field of view, so I got some extensions and fitted the original ( useless ) mirrors as well. So now I can actually see those who are really out to get me !!!

damn it, now I just feel like a fashion sheep!
fitted a set to mine last week - as yet still untested as it was a bit too wet for my liking to take it out
In terms of bar size it only really matters (i believe) if you have alloy bars which mine are so need to make sure they can go down to a fitting diameter of 13mm. I believe stock is 20mm something, but if you get the lower size they usually come with an adapter for both.
I had my eye on a tasty set of Oberon's but at 65 quid each are mighty expensive and settled on paying 13 for eBay for a test of concept - which is nearly as much as my nice billet cover screws cost
I only made the switch because I haven't found a setting of conventional mirrors that I like they all seem to vibrate like mad so wondered if I'd have better luck with bar ends.
Only concern is the width as the Renthals are wider than OE anyway, I like the clean top but does seem mighty wide now. I'd never do it on my commuter as I need to get through some really small gaps and have seen many bar end users get caught out trying to filter.

EDIT: quite like yours Baresford, do you have a link? not sure about running both sets you'll start to look like a moped mod squad

On my other bike I replaced the mirror stem with 10mm stainless steel and though it is slightly thinner than the original it's far stiffer and has stopped the vibrations completely. To do this though, you have to have mirrors which screw onto the stem.
The bar enders are cheapo ebay items
They are black finish so don't look too scooterish !!!!!

Thanks, for the feed back.
I'll have to consider the filting aspect as traffic is a problem in Gibraltar, but not problem once across the frontier in Spain.

Re: Bar End Mirrors?
Here's a couple of pictures of my current mirror-setup:
For everyday use:
For close-quarters-combat - or storage:
These mirrors are foldable, cheap, and with an insane FOV caused by the glass being domed. Actually, anything shown in these mirrors seems smaller than it is. No shoulders in view, no vibrations (no arm to allow any vibes) and a price tag in the area of a whopping 10£ on ebay.co.uk
The biggest issue here was getting the OE bar ends out.

Sorry, for the delaying in reply to your post 'Stormbringer'; they look interesting and only £10.
