Hello does anyone know if there is a side stand bypass switch for a CB500 1996 available

You don't want to make use of the safety feature of the side stand switch? I suppose you could disconnect the switch and bridge the contact points right there. There are three, one is earth, the other two serve the side stand light and the cutoff at the Ignition Control Unit. But you'll have to find out whether that means earth needs to be connected to the ICU or not. I don't know.

You can bypass the side stand switch by bridging the wires at the plug. It's behind the left hand side panel near fuel tap. There's 3 wires, join the two green ones. I wouldn't recommend it for road use though in case you forget the stands down!

It's almost easier to buy a new switch that works The only sensible reason for removing it is if you are taking the side-stand off 'cos you are using it on the track.
